Description Adult male (Figures 1 A, B; 2 A). Head: frons shiny white; vertex brown. Antenna with white scape entirely, as long as diameter of eye; flagellum white entirely. Labial palpus brown; second segment mixed with white; third segment tinged with dark brown, shorter than second segment. Thorax and tegula dark brown dorsally. Wing expanse 7.5 – 8.0 mm. Forewing ground colour golden-brown, with well-developed white median band, surrounded by black scales, oblique, extending from one-quarter of costa to middle of posterior margin; white after fuscous scales beyond two-thirds of forewing, irregular blackish spot with tiny fuscous and yellowish-brown scales scattered near apex, with deep-grey scales before tonus on posterior margin; fringes white, rarely mixed with blackish scales. Hindwing more or less lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Legs dark brown ventrally. Male genitalia (Figure 3 A – C). Uncus slender, gradually widened to apex, deeply concave at apex. Valva more or less broad; costa concave medially, roundly expanded beyond two-thirds, with acute apex; deeply incised beyond apex; process of cucullus clavate, exceeding apex of valve, with dense hairs; sacculus long, terminated at apex, setose beyond one-half. Juxta with symmetrical, extremely long caudal processes. Saccus triangular, one-third length of valva. The male genitalia is similar to Promalacta bellatula Wang, Promalacta meyricki Wang and Promalacta spatulata Wang, having a deep central incision of the valva, but the new species is differentiated by the gnathos longer than the uncus, the costal margin sclerotized with dense hairs, and a slender aedeagus without cornutus. The female genitalia is distinctly characterized by the antrum with a thumb-like apex, exceeding the lamella postvaginalis with a truncated apex, and the corpus bursae with a triangular, pyramid-like signum. Description Adult (Figures 1 C, D; 2 B). Head: frons dark brown, tinged with deep grey; vertex white; occiput with dark-brown erect scales. Antenna with white scape entirely, shorter than diameter of eye; flagellum shiny white in basal third, alternated with dark brown. Labial palpus with second segment brownish yellow, third segment dark brown, the latter slightly shorter than the former. Thorax and tegula brownish yellow. Wing expanse 9.5 – 10.0 mm. Forewing ground colour brownish yellow; two triangular, deep-grey spots at one-third and two-thirds of posterior margin, fuscous scales followed by anterior margin, termen and posterior margin, edged two former spots; fringes brownish yellow on termen, tinged with deep grey on tornus and posterior margin. Hindwing lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Legs dark brown, except white at basal part of each segment of tarsi; hind tibia with two pairs of dark brown spurs at sub-base and near apex. Male genitalia (Figure 3 D – F). Uncus slender, with round apex. Gnathos more or less stout, sclerotized, longer than uncus. Valva bifurcate, deeply concave beyond costal part, bearing dense hairs; sacculus terminate at apex, dense setose around apex and beyond one-third of posterior margin. Saccus bell-like, one-half length of valva. Aedeagus slender, gently bent; cornutus absent. Female genitalia (Figure 4 A – C). Papillae anales somewhat long, setose. Apophysis posterioris more than twice length of apophysis anterioris. Lamella postvaginalis weakly developed, a triangular pyramid-shaped, shorter than antrum. Antrum with thumb-shaped apex, longer than papillae anales. Corpus bursae pear-like, with irregular triangular pyramid-like signum at middle. Description Adult female (Figures 1 E, F; 2 C). Head: frons and vertex dark brown, tinged with deep grey, occiput with greyish-dark brown. Antenna with scape white dorsally, dark brown basally and ventrally, shorter than diameter of eye; flagellum white, alternated with dark brown. Second segment of labial palpus pale brown with dark brown distally; third segment dark brown except whitish apex, shorter than the former. Thorax and tegula dark brown near head, pale brown near abdomen dorsally. Wing expanse 8.0 – 8.5 mm. Forewing ground colour brownish yellow, tinged with dark-brown scales near base, at two-thirds length of costal and posterior margins; costal patch oblique, white at two-thirds of costa; nine or ten white spots edged by fuscous scales on lower half of wing and near apex; two near wing base, one under costal patch, five or six under cell before tornus, one after tornus, and one near apex; fringes golden yellow after two-thirds of forewing outer margin. Hindwing lanceolate; fringes greyish brown throughout. Leg dark brown ventrally; hind tarsi with white at entire of first, apical part of second and third segments, basal and apical parts of fourth and fifth segments; hind tibia pale brown with two pairs of pale-brown spurs at sub-apex and base. Male. Unknown. Female genitalia (Figure 4 D – F). Apophysis posterioris two times longer than apophysis anterioris. Lamella postvaginalis characteristically shaped, caudal margin incised at middle, lateral margin folded, rarely setose at apex. Lamella antevaginalis sclerotized, well-developed as shown in Figure 4. Ductus bursae broad, gradually narrowing, with many spines on left side caudally, twisted once at three-quarters of length. Corpus bursae small, with a pair of circular signa. Holotype. Forewing dark brown near base, gradually tinged with reddish brown; costa strongly oblique beyond three-quarters; sub-basal and median bands shiny blue, oblique, edged by fuscous scales, median band not reaching costa; one shiny-blue spot on costal margin, the other one under the former, centrally positioned at two-thirds of forewing surrounded by fuscous scales; one short shiny blue band, oblique, edged by fuscous scales before the tornus on posterior margin; one tiny spot at apex after fuscous scales; fringe yellowish brown. Hindwing dark brown, more or less lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Leg dark brown ventrally, with white scales at basal first, second, third, fourth and fifth segments of fore, mid and hind tarsi; hind tibia with two pairs of greyish brown spurs at sub-base and near apex. Valva very broad, short, truncate on outer margin beyond apex; costal margin strongly sclerotized; apex round, with row of pectinate plate beyond apex; sacuulus band-like, weakly sclerotized, terminated at lower corner of outer margin. Saccus bell-like, shorter than the valva. Aedeagus slender, elongate, slightly bent at three-quarters of its length, 1.5 times longer than valva, cornutus present and one-quarter length of aedeagus. Hindwing more or less lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Leg dark brown; tarsi with white scales at base of each segment; hind tibia paler, with two pairs of spurs with dark brown apex. Valva broad basally, incised apically, with spine-like process before middle on costa; sacculus sclerotized and asymmetrical with pointed apical spine on right one but without strong apical spine on left one. Labial palpus pale-yellowish brown; second segment tinged with greyish-brown scales from base to half the length to apex; third segment dark brown from basal third to apex ventrally, dark brown at half of length dorsally, third segment shorter than second segment. Thorax and tegula pale brown gradually darker near neck line. Wing expanse 7.5 – 8.0 mm. Forewing ground colour dark brown; basal band short, inconspicuous; antemedian white band strongly angled at middle, reaching one-quarter of costa and one-quarter of posterior margin, followed by golden yellow scales; postmedian white band nearly parallel to antemedian band with strong angle at middle, these two bands connected by a narrow white transverse line; one tiny white dot near three-quarters of of costa and another similar one near middle of outer margin; apical white spot well-developed beyond apex; fringes dark brown from two-thirds of costal margin to apex, golden yellow from apex beyond tornus, mixed with fuscous scales. Hindwing more or less lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Leg dark brown; white at basal, central, apical part of tibia with two pairs of dark brown spurs; white entire first, basal part of fourth and fifth segments of tarsi. Male. Unknown. Female genitalia (Figure 4 G, H). Apophysis posterioris about twice as long as apophysis anterioris. Antrum widely sclerotized with tiny spines in anterior part. Ductus bursae wide caudally, narrowed anteriorly with more than seven spines arranged into more or less long row on the left side; a sclerotized plate bearing five or six spines on the right side.
