02608794FFEBFFF499BEFA88DEB88724.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The new species is similar to L. flavipalpis Walsingham, 1891, which was described from South Africa, by having a uniquely thickened, blackish antenna. The male genitalia of this new species can be distinguished from those of the latter by the cucullus of the valva which is slightly narrowed towards the apex from beyond 2 / 3, by the conical spines along the ventral margin of the cucullus (absent in L. flavipalpis; see Janse 1954: Pl. 142, Fig. 2 and Pl. 151, Fig. 5), and by the aedeagus without a preapical spine (present in L. flavipalpis; see Janse 1954: Pl. 142, Fig. 2 and Pl. 151, Fig. 5). The female genitalia are also similar to those of L. flavipalpis, but the ostium bursae of the new species is distinctly concave (see arrow no. 1 in Fig. 2 C) (slightly convex in L. flavipalpis; see Janse 1954: Pl. 141, Fig. 10 and Pl. 159, Fig. 5; see also Park & De Prins 2019 b: Fig. 6 A).	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species. 02608794FFEBFFF499BEFA88DEB88724.taxon	discussion	Remarks. An additional female with the same locality (25 iii 1935, leg. Ch. Seydel; gen. slide no. CIS- 7515; deposited in RMCA) as the paratype, which has a determined label of “ Lecithocera xanthochalca ” in Meyrick’s handwriting, bears a genitalia different from those of L. xanthochalca (comparing with illustration by Clarke (1965: Pl. 86, Figs 4 a, b), slide no. Clarke- 9169, deposited in NHMUK), on the other hand, they look the same as that of the paratype of the new species. However, this female is not included in the type series because there is still a little uncertainty with its antenna not clearly blackish as much as in the paratype.	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species. 02608794FFECFFF799BEFF25DC018244.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The male genitalia of this new species are somewhat similar to L. seydeliella Park, sp. nov. but the former differs in having bronze dark brown forewing and wings with a golden metallic luster depending on the angle of light (forewing evenly yellowish-brown and wings without a golden metallic luster in L. seydeliella Park, sp. nov.). It can also be distinguished from the latter by the gnathos which has a triangularly produced basal plate distally (relatively less produced in L. seydeliella Park, sp. nov.), and a unique, linear, crescent plate (semi-ovate lobes at middle) between base of gnathos and tegumen (see arrow no. 1 in Fig. 4 D) (crescent plate absent in L. seydeliella Park, sp. nov.), and the stout, straight aedeagus with a large spiniform cornutus half the length of aedeagus (aedeagus bearing a cluster of numerous setae and a row of long needle-like spines in L. seydeliella Park, sp. nov.).	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species. 02608794FFEDFFF999BEFB7CDF708724.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This new species is one of the largest species (wingspan 19 mm) of the genus in Africa. It is nearly of the same size as L. corythaeola Meyrick, 1931 which was described from Uganda, but it can be distinguished by the 3 rd segment of the labial palpus which is as long as the 2 nd segment (much longer in L. corythaeola; see Meyrick 1931: 80); the forewing with slightly convex termen (straight in L. corythaeola; see Meyrick 1931: 80); the hind wing ground color much paler than forewing, orangish-grey (concolorous with forewing, bronze), with M 3 and CuA 1 stalked for basal 1 / 3 (M 3 free from CuA 1 in L. corythaeola; see Meyrick 1931: 80). The male genitalia differ from those of all known species in the Afrotropical region by the following: the costal bar of valva bears a triangle median angle (see arrow no. 1 in Fig. 5 C); the basal plate of gnathos elongates (length about twice its width), with a convex caudal margin (see arrow no. 2 in Fig. 5 C); the aedeagus is slender, about 0.1 times slenderer than its length.	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species. 02608794FFE3FFF999BEFEDDDF37825E.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Wingspan 12.0 − 15.0 mm. Male (Figs 6 A, B). Lecithocera dicentropa, which was described from DR Congo, is synonymized here with L. ideologa. From the result of the comparison between the male genitalia of the holotype of L. dicentropa (gen. slide no. CIS- 7139 / Park, illustrated by Park & De Prins (2019 a), deposited in RMCA) with those of L. ideologa (Holotype no. 578, illustrated by Janse 1954, Pl. 141, Fig. 2, deposited in TMSA), we concluded that they are conspecific. A small difference in the shape of the basal lobes of the uncus and the juxta are considered as infraspecific variations.	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species. 02608794FFE1FFFB99BEFF25D85B8276.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Meyrick (1938) described the species based on a type series comprising four specimens. Of them, two syntypes (one from Lac Magera, 2,000 m, 26 ii – 7 iii 1934, and the other, for which the label information could not be clearly identified, but an orange-colored label marked ' type' is visible) are deposited in RMCA, but we couldn't examine the genitalia because their abdomens are missing. The remaining two syntypes are probably deposited in NHMUK, but we couldn't directly confirm them. However, the forewing pattern of this species (Figs 6 H (after Meyrick 1938: Pl. 2, Fig. 2) and 6 I (one of two syntypes deposited in RMCA )) differs from that of its congeners by the broad blackish basal zone in basal 1 / 3. Therefore, its systematic position should be verified within Lecithocera, likely not congeneric. Based on the ICZN (1999; International Code of Zoological Nomenclature), in accordance with Recommendation 74 B, when designating a lectotype from the four syntypes, the one that Meyrick (1938) illustrated in the original publication should be designated as the lectotype. However, among the four syntypes collected from three different locations (Lac Magera, 2,000 m, 26 ii− 7 iii 1934; Burunga (Mokoto), 2,000 m, 9 − 20 iii 1934; and R. Bishakishaki (Kamatembe), 2,100 m, 11 − 22 iv 1934), only one specimen, examined by us, fully represents the characters of this species and meets all the requirements of the ICZN Art. 74.7. It is designated here as the lectotype. The lectotype is designated as part of our taxonomic work to enhance the stability of nomenclature (Declaration 44 – Amendment of Art. 74.7.3) with the purpose to delineate the species-group taxon Lecithocera trifera Meyrick, 1938.	en	Park, Kyu-Tek, Koo, Jun-Mo, Jeong, Su-Yeon, Prins, Jurate De, Prins, Willy De (2023): Review of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) in DR Congo, with description of four new species.
