Kalcerrytus amplexus sp. nov.

Figs 1–11

Type material. Male holotype (MPEG 21149) and female paratype (MPEG 21148) from Parque Nacional da Serra do Pardo, São Félix do Xingu, Pará, Brazil (5.877806°S, 52.795389°W), 26.IV.2012, G.R.S. Ruiz et al.

Etymology. The epithet is a Latin noun meaning “hug” and refers to the shape of the RTA, which resembles an open arm.

The females are similar to those of K. merreti by the posteriorly projected border of the epigynal plate, but can be distinguished by having the terminal portion of the spermathecae fused over a sclerotized internal plate (apparently also present in K. odontophorus Ruiz & Brescovit, 2003 , though small), from which the fertilization ducts emerge (Fig. 10), while in K. merreti the spermathecae are completely separated (see Galiano 2000: figs 58–59).

Diagnosis. The males of Kalcerrytus filipi sp. nov. are similar to those of K. amapari Galiano , K. edwardsi Ruiz & Brescovit , K. mberuguarus Ruiz & Brescovit , K. merreti Galiano and K. leonardi sp. nov. by having a short, stout RTA (Figs 15–16, 19), but can be distinguished from K. amapari by the triangular RTA (rounded in K. amapari ) and from K. merreti and K. leonardi sp. nov. by the smooth embolar base (Figs 14, 18) (striated in those two).
