Sara, Buenavista, 500 m, 14.XII.1920, Steinbach 5219 (GH, NY, frag-B at F).</p><p>DISTRIBUTION AND ECOLOGY</p><p>Occurring in tropical South America, primarily at the region bordering the Amazon Basin ( circum-Amazonian distribution), in Venezuela, the Guianas, Brazil (from Amapá through Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul), and along the western slopes of the Andes in Peru and Bolivia.
