(Fig. 1)</p><p>Female</p><p>Body spindle­shaped, 196 long, shield 31 long, 65 wide; shield with minute lobe, design smooth; dorsal tubercles set ahead of rear shield margin, to rear shield margin (Dt­ Sr) 7, Dt­Dt 24 apart, scapular setae (sc) 11 long, direct upwards and mesad, external vertical setae (ve) set on front humeral angles, 11 long; leg segments normal, tibial setae (1') set in middle, 5 long, coxal area smooth, 1st coxal setae (1b) 12 long, tubercles (Ct1­ Ct1) 12 apart; 2nd coxal setae (1a) 15 long, tubercles (Ct2­Ct2) 14 apart; 3rd coxal setae (2a) 26 long, tubercles (Ct3­Ct3) 33 apart, Ct1\Ct2 19, Ct1­Ct2 9, Ct2\Ct3 23, Ct2­Ct3 9; claw ending as a knob; empodium simple, 8 rayed.</p><p>Opisthosoma: flattened, differentiated into broader dorsal annuli and narrower ventral annuli, dorsal annuli with 37 spiny microtuberculate rings, 1st 3 dorsal annuli 13, ventral annuli with 51 microtuberculate rings; all setae on abdomen present, subdorsal setae (c1) 24 long, lateral setae (c2) 27 long, Lt­Lt 71 apart, Lt\Vt1 66, Lt­Vt1 34; 1st ventral setae (d) 20 long, Vt1­Vt1 45 apart, Vt1\Vt2 49, Vt1­Vt2 35; 2nd ventral setae (e) 18 long, Vt2­ Vt2 21 apart, Vt2\Vt3 60, Vt2­Vt3 52; 3rd ventral setae (f) 31 long, Vt3­Vt3 36 apart; accessory setae (h1) present.</p><p>Epigynium: 27 wide, 14 long, smooth, genital setae (3a) 11 long, Gt­Gt 23 apart.</p><p>Male: Body 188 long, shield 34 long, 55 wide, scapular setae (sc) 8 long; genitalia 20 wide, 10 long, setae 9 long, Gt­Gt 20 apart.</p><p>Type data: Holotype female, NANTOU: Renai, 16­Apr.­2003, K. W. Huang ex Trochodendron aralioides S. et Z. ( Trochodendraceae) (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 15 females, 2 males data same as for holotype; 7 females, TAICHUNG: Hoping, 31­Oct.­ 1996, K. W. Huang; 1 female, NANTOU: Renai, 25­Jan.­1991.</p><p>Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. (Fig. 2)</p><p>Female: Body spindle­shaped, 156 long, shield 48 long, 55 wide, shield lobe present, shield design with median line from base to basal 4/5, with many dashed lines at anterior; admedian lines semicircular­like, with granules at base, scapular tubercles set at rear shield margin, setae (sc) 9 long, directed to rear, Dt­Dt 21 apart; leg segments normal, fore tibial setae (1') set at 1/2, 6 long; coxal area with several granules; 1st coxal setae (1b) 5 long, Ct1­Ct1 15 apart, 2nd coxal setae (1a) 10 long, Ct2­Ct2 7 apart, 3rd coxal setae (2a) 11 long, Ct3­Ct3 22 apart, Ct1\Ct2 13, Ct1­Ct2 7, Ct2\Ct3 15, Ct2­Ct3 8; claw ending as knob; empodium simple, 5 rayed.</p><p>Opisthosoma: dorsum with median ridge shorter than submedian ridges, 1st dorsal annulus broad, dorsal annuli with about 33 annuli, with spiny microtubercles at median ridge, 1st 3 dorsal annuli 14 long, ventral annuli with about 58 microtuberculate rings; lateral setae (c2) 11 long, Lt­Lt 52 apart, Lt\Vt1 46, Lt­Vt1 24; 1st ventral setae (d) 23 long, Vt1­Vt1 31 apart, Vt1\Vt2 27, Vt1­Vt2 24; 2nd ventral setae (e) 8 long, Vt2­Vt2 10 apart, Vt2\Vt3 40, Vt2­Vt3 36; 3rd ventral setae (f) 7 long, Vt3­Vt3 8 apart; accessory setae (h1) absent.</p><p>Epigynium: 21 wide, 14 long, with about 12 longitudinal ridges, with dashed lines at base, genital setae (3a) 9 long, Gt­Gt 13 apart.</p><p>Male: not seen.</p><p>Type data: Holotype female, TAICHUNG: Hoping, 31­Oct.­1996, K. (Fig. 3)</p><p>Female: Body fusiform, 188 long, shield 35 long, 67 wide, shield lobe present, shield design with a network of cells, with a tier of 12 cells along anterolateral shield margin, 5 cells occurring in middle, 2 cells on rear of shield; scapular tubercles present, set ahead of rear shield margin, Dt­Dt 26, setae absent; leg segment genua absent from both legs, fore tibial and fore and hind femoral setae absent; coxal area smooth; 1st coxal tubercle and setae absent, 2nd coxal setae (1a) 13 long, Ct2­Ct2 9 apart, 3rd coxal setae (2a) 21 long, Ct3­Ct3 28 apart, Ct2\CT3 19, Ct2­Ct3 12; claw ending as knob; empodium divided, 5 rayed.</p><p>Opisthosoma: arched, dorsal annuli with about 51 annuli, first 3 dorsal annuli 7 long; ventral annuli with about 68 microtuberculate annuli; lateral tubercle and setae absent, 1st ventral setae (d) 9 long, Vt1­Vt1 45 apart; Vt1\Vt2 53, Vt1­Vt2 41; 2nd ventral setae (e) 7 long; Vt2­Vt2 25 apart, Vt2\Vt3 52, Vt2­Vt3 45; 3rd ventral setae (f) 19 long, Vt3­Vt3 28 apart; accessory setae (h1) present.</p><p>Epigynium: 27 wide, 19 long, smooth, genital setae (3a) 6 long, Gt­Gt 20 apart.</p><p>Male: 169 long, shield 32 long, 66 wide, Dt­Dt 20; genitalia 18 wide, 8 long, setae 6 long, Gt­Gt 18 apart.</p><p>Type data: Holotype female, NANTOU: Renai, 16­Apr.­2003, K. W.Huang; ex Trochodendron aralioides S. et Z. ( Trochodendraceae).
