039B8783FFF6FFE2C38FBCD0FD1BFBEB.taxon	discussion	Comments. According to Bosmans (2009), the males within the germanicum group are characterized by a conspicuous tegular projection which form is often of diagnostic value at species level. The males within the spinibarbe group have an unmodified tegulum and possess a large retinaculum (tegular apophysis attached to tegulum with membranous support sensu Jocqué 1991), often incised prolaterally, and with several large teeth. The shape of retinaculum is of significant diagnostic value.	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species. Females are distinguishable as follows: posterior margin of epigynal plate trapezoid and deeply incised in Z. emilijae sp. n. vs. triangular with a rounded tip and less incised in Z. blagoevi, Z. epirense and Z. zorba; spermathecae separated by less than 2 diameters in Z. emilijae sp. n. (Figs 22, 25, 27) vs. more than 2 diameters in Z. blagoevi and Z. zorba (Figs 24, 26, 28) and 4 diameters in Z. epirense (Fig. 23); spermathecae large and almost spherical in Z. emilijae sp. n. vs. small and two-chambered in Z. epirense. Snow-white coxae and abdominal spots present in both sexes in Z. emilijae sp. n. 039B8783FFF1FFE5C38FBB85FDA5FA41.taxon	discussion	Recently reported from Bulgaria: Slavyanka Mts (Lazarov 2005: 150), Maleshevska Mt. (Lazarov 2007: 140) and Samokov Plain (Kalushkov et al. 2008: 66). The reviewed materials (see also under Z. emilijae sp. n. and Z. zorba) reveal that these records refer to Z. blagoevi (in Lazarov 2005) and Z. zorba (in Kalushkov et al. 2008). The material from Maleshevska Mt. (Lazarov 2007) cannot be checked (probably lost) and is doubtful. Therefore, we remove Z. epirense from the Bulgarian checklist.	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species. 039B8783FFF1FFE4C38FB879FE0FFEE3.taxon	discussion	The Balkans records of Z. germanicum from Bulgaria: Vratsa (Drensky 1913: 60, sub Zodarium (Enio) g.), Greece: Attika (Roewer, 1928: 119), Alexandroupolis (Drensky 1928: 187, sub Zodarium g.) and Parnis Oros (Hadjissarantos, 1940: 34, sub Zodarium g.) and from North Macedonia: Gevgelija (Stojićević, 1929: 41, sub Zodarium g.), cannot be checked because the materials are probably lost. All other records from Bulgaria by Drensky (1913, 1921, 1932, 1936 a, 1940) have been re-examined and found to refer to Z. pirini Drensky, 1921 (Deltshev 1987). According to Bosmans (1997) the confirmed records of Z. germanicum are located much further north — in northeastern Croatia and northern Serbia (Djakovo and Fruska Gora) and all southern records in the Balkans are very doubtful. We completely agree with his assessment, moreover, all available re-examined specimens are misidentified and no proven records in the last over 80 years; therefore, we remove Z. germanicum from the checklists of Bulgaria, Greece and North Macedonia.	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species. 039B8783FFF0FFE4C38FBEFBFBB6FD18.taxon	discussion	The reports of this species from Bulgaria: Rila Mts, (Borovets resort) by Drensky (1932: 330), Belasitsa Mts by Drensky (1936 a: 31) and Slavyanka Mts by Drensky (1940: 174), as well as from North Macedonia (Udovo, near Gevgelija) by Stojićević (1929: 41) are doubtful, as the certified species records are from Greece and Croatia only (Bosmans 2009). The material cannot be reviewed (probably lost) and as there are no subsequent reports of the species in Bulgaria and North Macedonia, it is hereby removed from their checklists.	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species. 039B8783FFF0FFE4C38FBDBFFE75FB80.taxon	materials_examined	All reports of Z. italicum from Bulgaria and North Macedonia were by Drensky (1913: 60, 1929: 48, 1935: 100, 1936 a: 31 (erroneously after Drensky 1932), 1936 b: 94, 1940: 173) and Stojićević (1929: 41) and no specimen has been reported over the next more than 80 years. The concerning material (probably lost) has not been examined by the subsequent authors, who either considered the occurrence of the species in the region as doubtful (Deltshev 1987) or completely omitted it (Bosmans 1997, map 11); therefore, we remove this species from the lists of Bulgaria and North Macedonia.	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species. 039B8783FFFEFFE8C38FBE3EFBBEFD2F.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Zodarion weissi sp. n. belongs to the germanicum species group (sensu Bosmans 2009) and resembles Z. aurorae Weiss, 1982. Males differ by the following traits: tegular projection elongated triangular in lateral view in Z. weissi sp. n., vs. oblong with a broad rounded tip in Z. aurorae; basal tegular bulge reaching to the half of the tegular projection in Z. weissi sp. n. (Figs 63 – 65, 71, 72), vs. reaching more than 2 / 3 of the tegular projection length in Z. aurorae (see in Weiss 1982: 80, fig. 1) in lateral view. Females differ as follows: posterior margin of the epigynal plate with triangular incision with broad and shallow hood, 2.5 – 3 times wider than long in Z. weissi sp. n. (Figs 68 – 70, 73 – 75), vs. narrow and deep anterior hood, clearly longer than wide in Z. aurorae (see in Weiss 1982: 80, fig. 3).	en	Deltshev, Christo, Naumova, Maria, Matevski, Dragan, Indzhov, Simeon (2022): New taxonomic and faunistic data on the genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 (Araneae: Zodariidae) in the Balkans, with the descriptions of two new species.
