            <p> Pseudacerus Raffray, 1895: 80 . Type species:  Pseudacerus furcatus Raffray (by monotypy).  Pseudacerus: Besuchet, 2008: 71 . </p>
            <p>Description. Head triangular. Eyes very large, composed of dorsal and ventral parts connected by facets and completely covering temples. Head with large lateral antennal cavity able to fully accomodate antennae which are then not visible dorsally. Antennae three-segmented, antennomeres I and II minuscule, I slightly longer than II, both not visible dorsally, antennomere III large, about twice as long as wide, elliptically elongate, very obliquely truncate at apex, with dense long setae mainly on apical half and apex.</p>
            <p>Pronotum about twice as wide as long, heptagonal, anterior angles can be ill-defined but always present, longest at middle, its base triangular, deeply recessed into elytra, widest at base at level of posterior angles, lacking fovea or sulci; scutellum not visible.</p>
            <p>Elytra about twice as long as pronotum, longer than abdomen, with isodiametric structure mainly in their anterior part and evanescent posteriorly, with long and sparse golden setae present on part or whole surface, humeri carinate and protuberant or not.</p>
            <p>Venter with prosternum matt, with microsculpture and few punctures and setae, procoxae contiguous; mesoventrite shiny, short, about half as long as metaventrite, its median part with large punctures, apical mesoventral process pointed, basal mesoventral process short and wide; metaventral process longer than mesoventral process, slightly rounded or truncate, mesocoxae separated, metaventrite on disc smooth, on sides with large punctures; metacoxae separated by large, truncate, metaventral process; metaventrite and first visible sternite (sternite III) with large impressions to accommodate meso- and metafemora.</p>
            <p>Abdomen shiny. Composite tergite (IV–VI) of complicated shape, with large basal cavity which covers major part or even whole of its surface, with well-developed, basally wide paratergites bearing long and dense trichomes of different number and shape. Tergites VII and VIII visible or not. First visible sternite (III) much longer than sternites IV–VII combined, with median carina or obtuse keel and lateral deep or shallow depressions.</p>
            <p>Legs short and flat.</p>
            <p>Sexual dimorphism. In male mesofemora with long spine that is species-characteristic, mesotibiae with triangular, more or less developed obtuse teeth. Females with mesotibiae and mesofemora simple, lacking spines or teeth.</p>
            <p>Distribution. Only two species, both from Malaysia (Pehang and Sabah), have been described so far, but many undescribed species are known from Thailand, Malaysia (Sarawak), and Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Bali) (Besuchet 2008).</p>

            <p>Description. Body (Fig. 1) shiny reddish brown, antennae and legs yellowish brown, length about 1.35 mm, maximum width of elytra 0.78 mm.</p>
            <p>Head widest at base, about 1.15 times as wide as long; space between eyes about 1.5 times as wide as dorsal width of one eye; with microreticulation at base between eyes; with few punctures at sides; vertex and rostrum smooth; antennomere III slightly more than twice as long as wide.</p>
            <p>Pronotum twice as wide as long, with irregular double punctation, with very fine, shallow punctures on disc and anterior-laterally, and additionally with deeper and denser punctures on disc; setation very sparse, lateral margin lacking setae.</p>
            <p>Metaventrite with disc smooth, and only laterally with large punctures, setation absent.</p>
            <p>Elytra slightly more than twice as long as pronotum, with regular, sparse isodiametric structures on disc in anterior half, posteriorly smooth, on sides with long setae about as long as diameter of punctures of isodiametric structure, disc lacking setae. Posterior angles carinate, but not protuberant.</p>
            <p>Abdomen. Composite tergite (IV–VI) with large basal cavity delimited posteriorly by straight border and two well-defined, oblique, lateral carinae. Paratergites of composite tergite well-developed, widest basally, bearing four trichomes: two large triangular trichomes and two long and narrow, macroseta-like tangled trichomes, basal triangular trichomes shorter than maximum width of paratergite. Tergites VII and VIII hardly visible dorsally. First visible sternite lacking median carina but with obtuse keel, lateral depressions shallow.</p>
            <p>Aedeagus as in Figs. 6–7.</p>
            <p>Sexual dimorphism. In male legs (Fig. 4) with mesofemora bearing sharp, inwardly curved spines, and mesotibiae with triangular, obtuse tooth located in basal part before middle of tibiae. Female unknown.</p>
            <p>Remarks. See remarks under the following new species. Host ant. Unknown.</p>
            <p>Distribution. Known only from the type locality, the Malaysian province of Penang.</p>

            <p> Type material (533). Holotype: MALAYSIA: 3, “Sabah, Ulu Segama Forest Res., 8.IV.05, FIT, plot 5, 10 km from Danum Valley FC [N05°02.68‘ E117°45.55‘], leg. Slade &amp; Villanueva / Primary rain forest / [red label] HOLOTYPE  Pseudacerus sabahensis P. Hlaváč det., 2009” (OXUM). Paratypes: MALAYSIA: 3, same data as holotype (OXUM); 333, “Borneo: Sabah, Lahat Datu, Ulu Segama Forst. Res., Malua 2 Logging area, 250 m, 05°05.731’N 117°37.606’E, III.2005, E. Slade &amp; J. Villanueva lgt. / FIT #2 Forest High intensity dipterocarp frst Yayasan Sabah Logging Concession, OUMNH-2005-062” (OXUM 33, CPH 233). All paratypes bear the following red label: “ PARATYPE  Pseudacerus sabahensis P. H laváč det., 2009”. </p>
            <p>Description. Body (Fig. 2) shiny reddish brown, antennae and legs yellowish brown, length 1.42–1.51 mm, maximum width of elytra 0.86–0.88 mm.</p>
            <p>Head widest at base, about 1.2–1.3 times as wide as long, space between eyes about twice as wide as dorsal width of one eye, with microreticulation at base between eyes, with few punctures at sides, vertex and rostrum smooth, antennomere III twice as long as wide.</p>
            <p>Pronotum slightly more than twice as wide as long, finely shagreened and with few irregularly placed punctures, surface with sparse long setae, lateral margin with six long setae.</p>
            <p>Metaventrite with large punctures only on metaventral process, punctures evanescent toward process base, sides of metaventrite smooth with sparse setation.</p>
            <p>Elytra about twice as long as pronotum, in anterior half of disc with regular and sparse isodiametric structures, posteriorly evenly covered by very long setae, longer than diameter of punctures of isodiametric structure. Posterior angle less carinate, but clearly protuberant.</p>
            <p>Abdomen. Composite tergite (IV–VI) with deep median cavity delimited by median arched border close to apex of composite tergite. Paratergites of composite tergite well-developed, widest in basal part, bearing five trichomes, two large triangular trichomes and three long and narrow, macroseta-like trichomes, triangular trichomes longer than maximal width of paratergite. Tergites VII and VIII visible dorsally. First visible sternite with large median carina and deep lateral depressions.</p>
            <p>Aedeagus as in Figs. 8–9.</p>

            <p> Remarks.  Pseudacerus sabahensis differs from its congeneric species  P. furcatus by the much longer setation on the whole surface of the elytra, by the larger triangular basal trichome that is longer than the maximum width of the paratergite, and by the different structure of the mesofemora, mesotibiae, metaventrite and first visible sternite. </p>
            <p>Distribution. Known only from the type locality, Danum Valley Forest Center, Ulu Segama Forest Reserve, Borneo (Sabah).</p>
            <p>Etymology. The name of the new species refers to the name of the state, Sabah, where the new species was collected.</p>

            <p>Description. Head octagonal, shiny, with strongly prolonged temples, rostrum wide, slightly convex at middle; head with very large lateral antennal cavity able to fully accomodate antennae that are then no longer visible dorsally, with well-defined constriction behind eyes that divides head in two parts: large, hexagonal anterior part that is shiny and evenly punctate on its whole surface, and long posterior part, that is matt, and with irregular microstructure; eyes very large, composed from ventral and dorsal parts; antennae three-segmented, antennomeres I and II minuscule, not visible dorsally, terminal antennomere large, somewhat triangular, with dense and long setae mainly on apical two-thirds and apex; venter of anterior part of head densely punctate similar to dorsal anterior part; venter of prolonged, posterior part with rough microstructure similar to dorsal posterior part.</p>
            <p>Pronotum shiny, with punctation similar to that of anterior part of head, slightly wider than head, heptagonal, longest at middle, its base triangular, deeply recessed into elytra, widest at posterior angles, all angles well-defined, sharp, pronotum lacking foveae or sulci; scutellum not visible.</p>
            <p>Venter with prosternum shiny and densely punctate; procoxae confluent; mesoventrite shiny, short, about three times shorter than metaventrite, its median part with rough irregularly punctation, lateral parts with deep, smooth impressions able to fully accommodate profemora; basal mesoventral process short and truncate; metaventral process longer, rhombic, with well-defined carina at level of posterior border of mesocoxae; mesocoxae separated; whole metaventrite densely punctate; metacoxae separated by large, truncate, basal metaventral process; metaventrite as well as first visible sternite (III) with large impressions to accommodate meso and metafemora, first visible sternite more than five times shorter than second (IV), sternites V–VII clearly visible but together shorter than sternite III.</p>
            <p>Elytra shiny and with regular punctation similar to that of pronotum, almost twice as long as pronotum and longer than abdomen, lacking setae; humeri and basal angles very prominent.</p>
            <p>Abdomen shiny, composite tergite (IV–VI) with large, transverse basal basin at about half of its length bordered by well-developed, sharp U-shaped carina bearing two fine triangular trichomes on each side. Paratergites of composite tergite elongate and bearing dense, golden trichome, tergites VII and VIII also visible dorsally but very short, especially VII visible only as line.</p>
            <p>Legs short, tibiae flat.</p>
            <p>Sexual dimorphism. Male unknown, but likely to have modified mesofemora and possibly mesotibiae, bearing spines and spurs.</p>
            <p> Remarks.  Longacerus is most closely related to  Pseudacerus , sharing with this genus the distinct shape of the 3-segmented antennae, very large lateral antennal cavity able to fully accomodate the antennae that are then no longer visible dorsally, and similar, heptagonal shape of the pronotum. Both genera have the antennae with the terminal antennomere elliptically prolonged and bearing dense setae mainly in the apical half. This is a unique feature in the supertribe Clavigeritae readily separating both genera from any other members of the supertribe. </p>
            <p>Host ant. Unknown. The holotype was collected by a flight interception trap in a lowland dipterocarp primary forest.</p>
            <p>Distribution. Borneo (Sabah).</p>
            <p> Etymology. The name is a combination of the Latin adjective ‘ longus ’, referring to the long, posteriorly prolonged head, and ‘- cerus ’ the second part of the name  Pseudacerus , reflecting the close relationships between the two genera. </p>

            <p>Description. Body length 1.39 mm, maximum width of elytra 0.59 mm, whole body, except posterior part of head, shiny, reddish brown, posterior part of head matt, legs and antennae yellowish brown. Head 1.15 times as long as wide, terminal antennomere about 1.5 times as long as wide, with dense, long setae. Pronotum 1.33 times as long as head and about 1.65 times as wide as long. Elytra about 1.25 times as long as abdomen, composite tergite (IV–VI) 5.4 times as long as tergites VII–VIII together, tergite VIII slightly longer than VII.</p>
            <p>Sexual dimorphism. Male unknown.</p>
            <p>Distribution. Known only from the type locality, Danum Valley Forest Center, Ulu Segama Forest Reserve, Borneo (Sabah).</p>
            <p>Etymology. The specific name refers to the very prolonged head posterior to the eyes, resembling a very long giraffe-like neck. This is a unique feature within the Clavigeritae.</p>
