03EA674F3B42FFA338D6C32D66DDFA61.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Females collected in this study have spermathecal calyx (Figure 1) about 3 times longer than stated in the original description; however, the general shape of the spermatheca and the proportion between the length of the calyx and the diameter of the atrium of the specimens collected in this study are similar to the illustration provided in the original description. Chant & McMurtry (2004 a) placed A. chungas in the aerialis species subgroup (of the obtusus species group), characterized among other aspects, by the tubular calyx. The examination of a large number of females collected in this study, including some from Chiclayo (60 km from the type locality of this species) showed that the shape of the calyx varies from almost tubular to funnelshaped. 03EA674F3B49FFA938D6C008602DF879.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The cuticular patterns of dorsal and ventral shields and measurements of the specimens examined here are similar to those indicated in the original description; however, as Moraes & Mesa (1988) and Moraes et al. (1991) found for specimens from Colombia and Ecuador, setae j 3 and r 3 are longer than indicated in the original description. The shape of the spermatheca also varies in the specimens examined (Figure 2). In the specimen from San Martín, the calyx is typically saccular, but slightly shorter (17 µm) than reported by Moraes & Mesa (1988) (19 – 24 µm). In 6 of the 7 specimens from Cajamarca, the calyx is shorter (14 – 15 µm) and bell-shaped, suggesting that those specimens could represent a different species; however, in one female specimen from that same place, one calyx was saccular and the other bell-shaped. Until further specimens of this group are available, the specimens from Peru are considered to represent intra-specific variation within P. neotropicus. 03EA674F3B4EFFB038D6C60F6315F931.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Euseius concordis is morphologically very similar to E. caseariae (De Leon). Based on the redescription of the former species by McMurtry (1983) and on the original description of the latter, the major difference between them refers to the longer z 4 in the former. However, in specimens of E. concordis collected from areas next to its type locality in northern Argentina (our unpublished observations), from Guatemala (McMurtry 1983) and Brazil (Noronha & Moraes 2002) the length of z 4 is quite variable. For this reason, we suspect that E. caseariae is a junior synonym of E. concordis. In some of the specimens collected in Quillabamba — Macamango and in Amayabamba, the length of seta s 4 is intermediate between that of the holotypes of E. concordis and E. caseariae; in others, length of s 4 is similar to that of the holotype of E. concordis. In this work, we considered all o those specimens to be E. concordis. 03EA674F3B4EFFB038D6C60F6315F931.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The position of seta R 1 varies in this species. After observing 75 specimens, it was noticed that in 36 % of them both setae R 1 are inserted on the dorsal shield; in 40 % of specimens, seta R 1 of one side is inserted off the dorsal shield; in the remaining 24 % of specimens, both setae R 1 are inserted off the dorsal shield. The paratype collected on C. papaya has the seta R 1 of one side inserted off the dorsal shield, the other paratype collected on Acalypha sp. has both setae R 1 inserted on the dorsal shield. This species is similar to E. concordis, but differs by the shorter macroseta of tarsus IV and by having, in most cases, at least one seta R 1 inserted on the dorsal shield, because of the lateral expansion of the dorsal shield posterior to base of s 4. This species further differs from E. concordis by having margin of dorsal shield in this region with distinct angle. The original description of this species was based on a male; detailed descriptions of females were given by El-Banhawy (1979) and Schuster & Pritchard (1963) for specimens from Peru and USA (California), respectively. The females collected in this study are similar to those described by El-Banhawy (1979) and Schuster & Pritchard (1963), but differ in that the movable cheliceral digit has 2 teeth instead of 1 tooth.	en	Guanilo, Alberto Daniel, Moraes, Gilberto José De, Knapp, Markus (2008): Phytoseiid mites (Acari: Phytoseiidae) of the subfamily Amblyseiinae Muma from Peru, with descriptions of four new species. 03EA674F3B5BFFB938D6C39260A9FDE1.taxon	discussion	Remarks. In addition to the specimens collected in this study, we also examined 3 paratypes of this species from Álvaro de Carvalho, São Paulo, Brazil, several other specimens identified as N. idaeus from different parts of Brazil and one specimen from Paraguay. The females collected in this study and the paratype females all have a lightly sclerotized posterior margin of the sternal shield. Additionally, all of these specimens have st 3 inserted off the sternal shield. The position of st 3 was not mentioned in the text of the original description of N. idaeus, but in the original illustration st 3 is shown inserted on the sternal shield. This led Ueckermann, Moraes and Zannou (in Zannou et al. 2006) to describe Neoseiulus tridenticus from Kenya as a new species, due to st 3 being inserted off the sternal shield. Considering the great similarity between these two nominal species and the fact that N. idaeus was released in large numbers in Kenya in 1985 and 1989 (Yaninek et al. 1993) for the control of the cassava green mite, Mononychellus tanajoa (Bondar), we conclude that N. tridenticus is a junior synonym of N. idaeus.	en	Guanilo, Alberto Daniel, Moraes, Gilberto José De, Knapp, Markus (2008): Phytoseiid mites (Acari: Phytoseiidae) of the subfamily Amblyseiinae Muma from Peru, with descriptions of four new species. 03EA674F3B5CFFB838D6C3BA613AFD91.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The single female collected in this study has seta R 1 1.4 times as long as mentioned in the original description of this species. In addition, differently from what was mentioned in the original description of this species, the chaetotaxy of genu III of the specimen collected is 1, 2 / 1 - 2 / 0, 1, instead of 1, 0 / 1 - 2 / 1, 2. According to Chant & McMurtry (2003), N. peruanas is the sole species in the peruanus [sic] species group, characterized, among other aspects, by having elongate ventrianal shield (ratio length / width = 2.0); in the specimen collected in this study that ratio is 1.5. 03EA674F3B5FFF8338D6C57061CDF977.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This new species is similar to Typhlodromips confertus (De Leon), T. digitulus (Denmark) and T. hellougreus Denmark & Muma. Typhlodromips confertus differs by having dorsal shield imbricate and calyx of spermatheca elongate and tubular. Typhlodromips digitulus (see redescription underneath) differs from this new species by having dorsal shield reticulate, j 4 - J 2 shorter, and Z 4 and Z 5 longer than the new species here described. Typhlodromips hellougreus (see redescription underneath) differs by having dorsal shield reticulate and calyx of spermatheca ca. 1.5 times as long as T. amazonensis. According to Chant & McMurtry (2005 c) this new species belongs to the lugubris species group of genus Typhlodromips.
