Notes. Soop et al. (2023a) described Cortinarius sect. Turcopedes based on the type species Cortinarius turcopes Soop. According to our phylogenetic analyses, Cortinarius turcopes is clustered in the genus Thaxterogaster ( Liimatainen et al. 2022) . Therefore, we propose to include this section in the genus Thaxterogaster .
