Identification source. Compared with the original description ( Cameron 1900).

Distribution. India. Thailand. Vietnam *: Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Lam Dong.

Occurrence in Vietnam. May, June, September, October. South China-Vietnam subtropical evergreen forests, Southern Annamites montane rain forests, and Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregions. 700–1440 m alt.

Sex association. Female unknown.

Remarks. This species is similar to Mi. abnorma except for the orange tegula, abundant golden setae, and microscopic differences in the clypeus and genitalia. The species was previously recorded from Thailand and India (Lelej 2005); the coloration is similar to many Indian species but is much rarer in Thailand and Vietnam.
