Identification source. Compared with voucher specimens from Laos and Thailand ( Lelej 1996d; Okayasu 2020) [ EUMJ, IBSS, NSMT, TUA, ZMUC].

Previous record. This species was recorded from Vietnam by Okayasu et al. (2018) without reference to voucher specimens. Later, this record was clarified by Williams et al. (2019b) as Dong Nai.

Distribution. China. Indonesia. Laos. Myanmar. Thailand. Vietnam: Hoa Binh *, Nghe An *, Phu Yen *, Dong Nai.

Occurrence in Vietnam. April to June, October. Northern Indochina subtropical forests, Southern Annamites montane rain forests, and Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregions. 100–300 m alt. Forest, regenerated forests.

Sex association. This species was initially described from the female only. The male was associated and described as Mi. yunnanensis Lelej, 1996 based on a pair in copula ( Lelej & Yamane 1992; Lelej 1996d; Williams et al. 2019b).

Remarks. Like Mi. athalia , this species is widespread and common in Southeast Asia.
