Identification source. Compared with voucher specimens from Thailand ( Williams et al. 2019b) [THNHM].
Previous record. This species was described from Hanoi, Ha Son Binh (now Hoa Binh), and Vinh Phuc by Lelej (1995b).
Distribution. China. Thailand. Vietnam: Lao Cai *, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Bac Giang *, Hoa Binh, Phu Yen *, Lam Dong *.
Occurrence in Vietnam. March, May, June, September to November. South China-Vietnam subtropical evergreen forests, Northern Indochina subtropical forests, Red River freshwater swamp forests, Southern Annamites montane rain forests, and Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregions. 300–1000 m alt. Forest, bamboo, regenerated forests.
Sex association. Male unknown.
Remarks. Based on the black metasomal color, this species is more likely to be matched with Si. ansula , rather than Si. hong Lelej, 1995 , but there are likely to be additional undescribed males in Vietnam and the genus limits of the Oriental Smicromyrmini are difficult to ascertain, especially in males of Andreimyrme , Ephucilla , and Sinotilla .
