Identification source. Voucher specimens (Okayasu 2018).
Previous record. This species was recorded from Thua Thien Hue and Vinh Phuc by Lelej (1995b) and Okayasu (2018).
Distribution. China. Taiwan. Laos. Thailand. Vietnam: Vinh Phuc, Thua Thien Hue.
Occurrence in Vietnam. August, November. South China-Vietnam subtropical evergreen forests and Northern Vietnam lowland rain forests ecoregions. 50–1400 m alt.
Sex association. Male unknown.
Remarks. This species is currently placed in the subgenus Erimyrme Lelej, 1985 , but no males of that subgenus have been studied in southeast Asia ( Pagliano et al. 2020). It seems possible that Sm. triguttata , along with Sm. thaochani , could eventually be moved into a different genus, when males are eventually recognized.
