Hemutilla granulata Tu et al., 2014: 78 View Cited Treatment , ♂, holotype ♂ (Fengyang Mountain, Zhejiang, China) [ZJUH]; Brothers & Lelej 2017: 57, ♂; Brothers et al. 2019: 581; Pagliano et al. 2020: 29.
Material examined. 1♂. Vietnam: THUA THIEN HUE: Bach Ma Natl. Pk., ca. 1 km NE along trail behind upper guesthouse, semi-tropical evergreen forest, 16°11'15"N 107°51'17"E, 1200 m, 3–17.VI.2000, B. Hubley leg., Malaise trap (fine) head, ROM 2000504 [1♂ ROM] GoogleMaps .
Identification source. Keyed using Tu et al. (2014) and compared with the original description.
Previous record. None.
Distribution. China. Vietnam *: Thua Thien Hue.
Occurrence in Vietnam. June. Northern Vietnam lowland rain forests ecoregion. 1200 m alt. Semi-tropical evergreen forest.
Sex association. Female unknown. This species has been collected from the same localities (but different date) with H. bifurcata , i.e., Mt. Fengyang-shan, Zhejiang, China and Bach Ma National Park, Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam ( Tu et al. 2014; this study). They are the only Hemutilla species ever recorded from Vietnam, while other species are found in southern China and Taiwan. Hence, they are likely conspecific. However, proposal of a new synonymy is beyond the focus of this paper.
Remarks. This species was previously known from a single locality in southern China ( Tu et al. 2014).
