Identification source. Keyed using Tu et al. (2014) and compared with the original description.

Previous record. None.

Distribution. China. Vietnam *: Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong.

Occurrence in Vietnam. August, December. Northern Vietnam lowland rain forests and Southern Annamites montane rain forests ecoregions. 1400 m alt.

Sex association. Male unknown.

Remarks. The type specimens of this species were not found in TARI, where Chen’s types are presently deposited (JO pers. obs.). Before this study, Hemutilla was known from China and Taiwan only. The record from Lam Dong expands its distributional range to southern Vietnam.
