Unlike Myrmosidae , this family is widespread in the world, except arctic regions. Brothers & Lelej (2017) recognized eight subfamilies (including Myrmosinae ) within it. Waldren et al. (2023) proposed a different higher-classification system, with eight subfamilies (excluding Myrmosidae ).
