Sarcosolomonia papuensis Shinonaga and Kurahashi, 1969

Morphological characters. Gena with setulae mostly yellow/white in males, but only black in females. Occiput with at least one row of black setulae behind the ocular setae, with setulae only yellow/white ventrally. Prescutellar acrostichal and apical scutellar setae present in both sexes. Proepisternum bare. Body length 5–10 mm.

Geographical distribution. Australia (Queensland)—AUSTRALASIAN/OCEANIAN.

Biology. Sarcophaga papuensis was documented emerging from the common swamp pitcher-plant, Nepenthes mirabilis ( Yeates et al. 1989) .
