Material examined. Holotype ( MNHN 6134) and 4 paratypes ( MNHN 6135). 14 specimens in 3 lots from Vanuatu, 42 specimens in 13 lots from the Solomon Islands.

Distribution. Previously reported from Vanuatu ( Sirenko 2001), the new records expand the distribution within Vanuatu ( 658–900 m) and also add records from the Solomon Islands ( 454 m, 640–1313 m). Found living and feeding on sunken terrestrial plant remains.

Remarks. The distribution of L. vanbellei is very similar to that of L. thandari .
