( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 )
Mesorhoea sexspinosa Stimpson, 1871: 136–137 View in CoL .
Material examined. 1 male ( CW 6.60 × 5.50 CL mm) , 1 female (CW 7.92 × CL 6.15 mm), station SDN30 , 06.v.2021 ( CCDB 7463 View Materials ) .
Geographic distribution. Western Atlantic— USA ( North Carolina, Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Colombia, Antilles, Guianas, Brazil ( Amapá, Pará, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul), and Uruguay ( Williams et al. 1968; Powers 1977; Williams 1984; Abele & Kim 1986; Bordin 1987; Campos & Manjarés 1991; Souza 1997; Barros & Pimentel 2001; Nizinski 2003; Melo 2008, 2010; Felder et al. 2009).
Remarks. This is the first record of Mesorhoea sexspinosa from Espírito Santo state. The values of the BLAST query cover (89–99%) and percent identity (>84%) were suitable for its identification within Parthenopidae MacLeay 1838 , since our sequence aligned with the other of the same family ( Marco-Herrero et al. 2015; Mantelatto et al. 2018). It is worth highlighting that the generated sequence represents the first record for the genus Mesorhoea Stimpson, 1871 on Genbank. Sequence accession number (GenBank): CCDB 7463—16S (OR501069) (present study).
