Material examined. 1 male (CW 13.67 × 9.95 CL mm), station SDN30 , 06.v.2021 ( CCDB 7460 View Materials ) .

Geographic distribution. Western Atlantic— USA ( Massachusetts to Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, Antilles, and Brazil ( Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul) ( Abele & Kim 1986; Coelho & Ramos-Porto 1995; Almeida et al. 2007b; Coelho et al. 2008; Felder et al. 2009; Thoma et al. 2009; Vieira & Calazans 2010; Mantelatto et al. 2020).

Remarks. This is the first record of Hexapanopeus angustifrons from the Espírito Santo state. The values of the BLAST query cover (>97%) and percent identity (>96%) were suitable for its identification, since our sequences aligned with other of the same species ( Schubart et al. 2000a; Thoma et al. 2009). Sequence accession number (GenBank): CCDB 7460—16S (OR501066) (present study).
