Type species: Noctua caliginosa Hübner, [1813] : pl. 100, by subsequent designation by Curtis (1831): 356. = Hydrilla Boisduval, 1840: 138 (TS: Noctua caliginosa Hübner, [1813] ). Hydrilla is a junior objective synonym of Acosmetia Stephens, 1829 .
