Subgenus Hydrillula Tams, 1938: 123
Type species: Noctua pallustris Hübner, [1808] ). Tams proposed this name for the part of Hydrilla Boisduval, 1840 , as restricted by Guenée (1852): 236, and at that time known as ‘ Hydrilla Guenée’.Tams also proposed the emendation of the spelling of the type species to H. palustris . Under the Code, Article 32(a) (ii), the original spelling should be retained ( Nye 1975).
