TL: Darjiling [Darjeeling, West Bengal]; Guhrwal [Garhwal, Uttarakhand]; Dharmsala [Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh]
= Aletia albicosta Moore, 1882: 97 (preoccupied; replacement name is Mythimna (Pseudaletia) pallidicosta ).
Distribution. India: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal (Moore 1882). Global: China (West), Indonesia ( Flores, Sulawesi, Sumatra), Japan, Laos, Malaysia (Borneo), Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Timor, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam ( Kononenko & Pinratana 2013).
Remarks: Worldwide three subspecies, M. p. pallidicosta distributed in higer latitudes and altitudes in the Himalayas, M. p. brevipennis (Warren, 1913) recorded from Sri Lanka, and M. p. saturata (Warren, 1913) known from Malay Peninsula.
