Genus Sideridis Hübner, [1821] 1816: 232
Type species: Noctua evidens Hübner, [1808] : pl. 79, by subsequent designation by Hampson (1905): 436. Sideridis anapheles Nye, 1975: 450 is the replacement name of Noctua evidens Hübner. Noctua evidens Hübner is a junior primary homonym of Noctua evidens Thunberg, 1784: 2 , pi. [i], fig. [2], which is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena trigrammica Hufnagel, 1766 ( Noctuidae , Acronictinae ). Nye (1975) established a replacement name Sideridis anopheles for N. evidens .
