Genetic information. This species has been assigned the BIN URI: BOLD AAQ3396. The intraspecific divergence calculated from eight samples is 0.00–0.31%. The genetically closest taxa are M. fontainei (PWD=1.26–1.73%), M. dicranographa (PWD=1.49–1.86%) and the M. furvitincta-spherographata sp. n. species pair (PWD=2.49–3.29%).
Distribution. Meganola trigonographa was previously known only from Burkina Faso ( Hacker et al. 2012). The current research indicates that this species is more widespread, extending from West Africa to southern Central Africa, with confirmed records from Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, and Zambia.
