Genetic information. This species has been assigned the BIN URI: BOLD AAP8748. The intraspecific divergence calculated from seven samples is 0.00%. The morphologically closest taxa are M. saotomeana sp. n., M. bispermutata cryptochra , and M. bispermutata bispermutata , diverging by 2.02– 2.19%, 2.82–2.99% and 2.81–3.34%, respectively. The externally highly similar M. pachygrapha diverges by 4.42–4.77%.

Taxonomic notes. Meganola kakamega has been synonymized with M. bispermutata by László & Vetina (2019). However, the examination of extensive material from Central Africa suggests that the Kakamega population, which resembles M. bispermutata , is more likely to belong to the western-central African species M. diagrapha .

Meganola chromatographa View in CoL was described based on two female specimens from Burkina Faso. The characteristics of these specimens closely match those of the male types of M. diagrapha View in CoL , which were also collected in Burkina Faso. Additionally, the female illustrated by Hacker et al. (2012) as M. diagrapha View in CoL is actually M. dicranographa Hacker, 2012 View in CoL . Therefore, the female specimens representing M. chromatographa View in CoL syn. n. are now considered conspecific with M. diagrapha View in CoL .

Distribution. This species was earlier published from Burkina Faso (type locality) and Kenya- Kakamega (as M. kakamega ) ( Hacker et al. 2012). The specimens from Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea and Liberia represent new country records.
