Diagnosis. acr in 10 somewhat irregular rows. Apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 separated, extending to extreme vein tip; apical spot on R2+3 with basal edge beyond dm-cu, apical spot on R4+5 with basal edge beyond that on M1; a spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; apex of subcostal cell hyaline. Male surstylus very broad in both lateral and posterior view, with a ventrally oriented sharp process subapically.
Description. MALE. Body length 5.6–6.6 mm, wing length 5.4–6.3 mm.

Frons about as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle without spot; oc developed, about as long as anterior or and slightly shorter than posterior or; face without spots; gena about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere 2 times as long as wide; arista dark brown except yellow brownish at base, with longest hairs about as long as the height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish hairs and slightly dark hairs; palpus yellow, with dark hairs.
Thorax ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23 – 29 ) yellow. Mesopleuron with 1 bristle on anepisternum and 2 bristles on katepisternum. Legs yellow. Fore femur with 4 pv and 6 pd, and ctenidium with 15 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 preapical ad and 3 apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 23 – 29 ) tinged yellowish, apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 separated, extending to extreme vein tip; apical spot on R2+3 with basal edge beyond dm-cu, apical spot on R4+5 with basal edge beyond that on M1; a spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; apex of subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 3.4 mm: 1.0 mm: 0.6 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.8 mm: 3.3 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter yellow.
Abdomen ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 23 – 29 ) yellow; tergites 2–5 with brownish posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 28–33 View FIGURES 23 – 29 View FIGURES 30 – 33 ): Protandrium circular; surstylus very broad in both lateral and posterior view, with a ventrally oriented sharp process subapically, with long hairs; hypandrium W-shaped, or H-shaped with lateral arms divergent distally, hypandrial apodemes small; gonopod with an inward curved triangular process and a subuliform process; aedeagus columniform with a deep apical incision in ventral view, and with a blunt dentation dorsally in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme slightly shorter than aedeagus.
Type material. Holotype male ( CAU), CHINA, Guizhou Province: Suiyang, Kuankuoshui Nature Reserve (N 28°14ʹ, E 107°11ʹ, 1400 m), 15. VIII. 2010, Guoquan Wang. Paratypes: CHINA, Guizhou Province: 4 males ( CAU), same data as holotype; 1 male ( CAU), same place as holotype, 13. VIII. 2010, Sipei Liu.
Distribution. China (Guizhou).
Remarks. This species is somewhat similar to H. ( H.) bispinalis from Zhejiang. But it can be separated from the latter by the surstylus very broad and the hypandrium H-shaped. In bispinalis , the surstylus is finger-like, the hypandrium is nearly Y-shaped ( Yang, Hu and Zhu, 2001).
Etymology. The species is named after the type locality Kuankuoshui Nature Reserve.
