Calciphile Art, vorwiegend verbreitet im Alpengebiet, hier meist oberhalb der Baumgrenze. Schneckenparasit. Die Art wurde früher irrtümlich als Synonym von S. ( H.) novella angegeben. Auch bei S. ( H.) novercoides handelt es sich nicht um diese Art, sondern um eine mediterrane Sippe (POVOLNY & VERVES 1997).
