Out of all other investigated species, the isthmus of Laxus oneistus is the shortest and stoutest, accounting only for less than 30% of the total pharynx length; it slightly increases in width from anterior to posterior ( Fig. 1j View Fig ; Table 1; Fig. 12a–c View Fig ).
