In Canada, this widespread, apparently uncommon eucnemid species has been taken from New Brunswick, Ontario and Québec. In the United States, O. orchesides was previously recorded from Arkansas, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin ( Otto 2013, 2024b). The new state record is confirmed for Connecticut, based on a single specimen collected in a Lindgren funnel trap.
