Geoplana mayori Fuhrmann, 1914 sensu Hyman, 1962 View in CoL incertae sedis
Hyman (1962: 5–7, figs. 3–5; PANAMA: Chiriquí: Finca Lerida)
External diagnosis ( Hyman 1962). 65 mm long and 8 mm wide. Dorsum black, except for a light median stripe and light margins, which fade away toward the dark anterior end. Eyes on a single row that begins well behind the anterior tip but soon widens to a band a few eyes wide that ends well before the pharynx ( Figure 4a View FIGURE 4 ).
Remarks. Geoplana mayori was described by Fuhrmann (1914) based on specimens from Colombia. The specimen identified as such by Hyman in Panama probably belongs to a different species. Two specimens roughly matching Hyman’s description and drawing ( Figure 4b View FIGURE 4 ) were recorded in Costa Rica.
Possible iNaturalist records ( Figure 5 View FIGURE 5 ).
