Tribe Neopunanini Emeljanov

Description. Gonapophyses IX linear, average length 1936.14 µm, width 77.97 µm, apical third concave ventrally ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ), 13 rounded well-separated teeth along proximal half of gonapophyses, nine rounded teeth on apex ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ); carination predominately on apical third; ventral membranous sheath on distal third, terminus bluntly rounded. Small, lace-like circular surface sculpturing along midline, diagonal sculpturing on ventral portion, circular pits along midline and base of gonapophyses IX.

Notes. Neopunanini includes eight species, all in the genus Neopunana . The genus is restricted to the Caribbean ( Asche 1983). There are few plant associations for Neopunanini , such as Castilla elastica Sessé ex Cerv. ( Panama rubber tree; Moraceae ) ( Caldwell & Martorell 1951, Urban et al. 2010). The junior author (CRB) has collected Neopunana by sweeping or beating woody vegetation in the British Virgin Islands ( Bartlett 2000).
