Distribution. Kalimantan ( Kraenzlin, 1927); Sarawak, Brunei ( Burtt, 1970); Brunei ( Burtt, 1997); Kalimantan, Sarawak ( Hilliard et al., 2003).

Notes. This name was lectotypified by Burtt (1970) from the various collections originally cited by Kraenzlin (1927). An updated description and additional specimens were cited by Hilliard et al. (2003) where it was placed in the new section Pleuroschisma Hilliard & B.L.Burtt. In this paper, Hilliard et al. (2003) did not cite any specimens from Brunei, and one of the collections listed in Burtt (1997) as being from Brunei was listed under Cyrtandra penduliflora var. grossipilosa Hilliard & B.L.Burtt , so the presence of the typical variety in Brunei needs to be confirmed.

Distribution. Brunei, Sarawak, Kalimantan ( Hilliard et al., 2003).
