Distribution. Sabah ( Clarke, 1883); Sabah, Sarawak, Kalimantan ( Burtt, 1978); Brunei ( Burtt, 1997); Sabah ( Beaman et al., 2001); Sabah, Kalimantan and possibly Brunei ( Hilliard & Burtt, 2004).

Notes. Additional specimens of this species and discussion of its disjunct distribution were provided in Burtt (1978), as well as a key to separate this species from the morphologically similar Cyrtandra eximia C.B.Clarke. An updated description, distribution and key to related species were also provided in Hilliard & Burtt (2004), where the distribution of this species was reduced to Sabah and Kalimantan, and possibly Brunei. There are two sheets in K of this species collected by Lobb, but only one (K000831519) matches the location details cited in the protologue of ‘Kulawat’, so this is considered the holotype.
