Distribution. Kalimantan ( Lauterbach, 1910); Sabah ( Merrill, 1929b; Beaman et al., 2001); Kalimantan, Sabah, Sarawak ( Burtt, 1970).

Notes. The type collection of Cyrtandra warburgiana at WRSL is annotated by Burtt as being the lectotype and was cited as such by Hilliard & Burtt (2006a). Because information is missing from the original description, an updated description to this species and clarification of species limits was given in Hilliard & Burtt (2006a).

The name Cyrtandra campanulata Merr. is a later homonym and therefore illegitimate. In the introduction to his 1929 paper on Bornean taxa, Merrill (1929a) explained that he worked on two sets of specimens – one deposited in the herbarium in Manila, and another at the University of California – and that the set in Manila should be considered the ‘actual types’ and the California one the ‘isotype’. The holotype in PNH is presumed destroyed, so the specimen in UC, which we know was seen by Merrill and has an inflorescence, is selected here as the lectotype.
