Morphological diagnosis: (See Table 2; Cohen & Morin, 1989: table 1) In supplement to Cohen & Morin (1989), additional morphological information was collected from deposited specimens: LACM 85-208.1-A, LACM 85-208.1-B, LACM 85-208.1-C, LACM 85-208.1- E. All recorded diagnostic traits are from adult male specimens except when female is explicitly specified – Valve shape: ϴ valve size (c, p) ( Cohen & Morin, 1989: figs 1C, D, 2B). Infold ( Cohen & Morin, 1989: fig. 4B): ϴ anteroventral row with 13–20 setae (c) (1–3 along incisur); ϴ males (but not females) with posterior edge of RT caudal ridge with transparent triangular spines (c, p).

Male first antenna ( Cohen & Morin, 1989: fig. 5B): Seventh article; ϴ b-seta with bulbous base followed by large sucker and two distal filaments, each bearing a tiny projection followed by 4–6 small suckers (N = 16); c-seta slightly more than twice as long with larger basal filament and sucker, with two more distal filaments each bearing proximal projection followed by 3–6 (usually 3 or 4) suckers on proximal filament and 3–6 (usually 4) suckers on distal filament (s) (N = 16).

Second antenna ( Cohen & Morin, 1989: fig. 6B): ϴ second exopodial article with ringed terminal seta with 7–11 ventral spines (c, p).
