Holotype. ♂ USA: Michigan: Washtenaw Co.: Ann Arbor, 3 Apr. 1949, U.N. Lanham ( NMNH: 75171). Synonymy by LaBerge (1987).

County records: Alger, Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Calhoun, Clare, Gratiot, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Lake, Lenawee, Livingston, Midland, Montcalm, Montmorency, Ottawa, Saginaw, St. Joseph, Van Buren, Washtenaw, Wayne.

Notes. A specialist of Claytonia , commonly seen in undisturbed woodlands. Nesting biology in Illinois described by Davis & LaBerge (1975).
