Body shining, ovate, its length 4.2-4.7 mm; head moderately broad, anteriorly rounded, dorsal surface of paraclypei, as well as lateral parts of clypeus densely punctured; the latter subapically with a pair of setigerous punctures bearing long hair-like setae; each paraclypeus with three primary setigerous punctures bearing hair-like setae and 2-3 submarginal hair-like setae; eyes moderately large, ocular index about 3.3-3.7; pronotum densely punctured, except large impunctate calli; pronotal margins with a row of 7-9 submarginal setigerous punctures bearing long hair-like setae; scutellum densely punctured with punctures clearly larger than those on pronotum, antero-lateral parts of a scuteller disc impunctate; costal margin without setigerous punctures bearing hair-like setae; propleuron almost impunctate, except for several coarse punctures in propleural depression; mesopleural evaporatorium entire, very large, almost reaching anterior margin of mesopleuron, laterally narrowed and reaching lateral margin of mesopleuron; paramere as in Fig. 23, aedeagus as in Fig. 24.

Type material examined

Queensland: lectotype male (designated by LIS, 1996: 217): Australia, Somerset, I-75, L.M. D'Albertis; typus; oceanicus SIGN. ; Ceotomus oceanicus SIGN. ( MCSN) .

Other material examined

Tasmania: 2 females, Launceston T. , 2.3.16, F.M. Littler ( SAM).

Note

The new record of the species from Tasmania suggests it is probably distributed also along the whole eastern part of continental Australia - from the Cape York on the north of Queensland to New South Wales and Victoria on the south.
