Material examined

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , Florida: 1 ♂, Miami-Dade County, May 1953 ( MNRJ); 1 ♀, 14 May 1956, D.R. Paulson leg. ( MNRJ); 1 ♂, 29 May 1962 ( MNRJ); 1 ♀, Jun. 1964 ( MNRJ); Hamilton County, ♀, Jun. 1964 ( MNRJ).

Remarks

In addition to the characteristics mentioned by Vitali (2007), the subgenus Eleutho can be characterized and differentiated from the nominative subgenus, Eburia , by the scape and basal antennomeres being granulate, mainly in males ( Fig. 2C View Fig ), and by antennomeres III–IX with projection in the outer side of the apex ( Fig. 2A View Fig ).

Examination of material of Eburia stroheckeri , including photographs of the holotype ( Fig. 2 View Fig B–C), allowed me to conclude that this species has the characteristics of Eburia ( Eleutho) and I include it in that subgenus as a new subgeneric assignment.
