Epipremnum falcifolium has similar infructescences with massively enlarged stylar tissue but they can usually be readily separated on leaf characters. Dried inflo- rescences and infructescences of E. falcifolium have the region around stigma expanded into two lateral cushions. Epipremnum falcifolium often produces fruits with a solitary seed by abortion ( Boyce 1998).

Distribution and ecology. Widespread. Near rivers, mixed dipterocarp forest, swampy secondary forest, Setap shales, clay soil, yellow sandy loam; 5–250 m elev.
