Figure 1 View FIGURE 1
Description. Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, dorsal surface furrowed along the midline ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Eyes spherical, projecting forward and slightly outwards. Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices slightly inflated ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). Thorax. Anterior margin of pronotum substraight, posterior margin rounded ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ); lateral lobes longer than high, narrowing to backward, humeral sinus indistinct ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). Legs. Fore coxae with 1 small spine. All femora unarmed on ventral surfaces, apices of genicular lobes of hind femora obtusely rounded. Fore and middle tibiae ventrally with 4–5 pairs of spines and 1 pair of apical spines; tibial tympana open on both sides, ovoid. Hind tibiae with 22–27 internal spines and 23–29 external spines on dorsal surfaces, ventral surfaces with 2–7 pairs of spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs. Tegmina and wings. Tegmina short and slightly surpassing the posterior margin of pronotum, reaching the middle of third abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). Abdomen. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite faintly excavated. Cercus conical in lateral view ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ), interno-dorsal margin faintly expanded ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ), interno-ventral margin with 1 long median lobe ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ) which curving upwards and apical margin obtuse ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ). Subgenital plate with base transverse, lateral margins rolling dorsad and converging, posterior margin almost straight with middle area slightly projecting ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ). Styli subconical, apices obtuse, located on latero-apical angles of subgenital plate on posterior margin.
Female. Slightly larger than male. Lateral margins of ninth abdominal tergite with widely extending posteriorly, the apical margin nearly truncate ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Cercus short and stout, conical, apex subacute. Ovipositor short, moderately upcurved behind middle, dorsal valvulae with tip acute, ventral valvulae with a small apical hook ( Fig. 1L View FIGURE 1 ). Subgenital plate wider than long, lateral margins convex, posterior margin with a small median concavity, the lateral lobes rounded ( Fig. 1J View FIGURE 1 ).
Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes black brown. Antennal socket and internal margins of basal two segments of antennae black, flagellum with brownish ring at apical area of each segment. Dorsal surface of head with four longitudinal blackish brown stripes, the external stripes fine and extending to the inside of antennal socket, internal longitudinal stripes wide and fused at apex of fastigium verticis. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal blackish brown stripe on both sides, between them brown. Apices of femora and tarsi blackish brown.
Measurements (mm). BL: ♂ 8.3 – 8.6, ♀ 8.6 – 9.5; PL: ♂ 4.0 – 4.3, ♀ 3.9 – 4.2; TL: ♂ 1.2 – 1.5, ♀ 1.0 – 1.3; HFL: ♂ 8.5 – 9.1, ♀ 8.5 – 8.9; OvL: 5.1 – 5.3.
Material examined. Holotype: male, Xiaoheishan, Longling , Yunnan, September 5, 2024, coll. by Ting Luo and Yanting Qin . Paratypes: 3 males and 3 females, the other information as holotype. Other specimens: 3 males, the other information as holotype.
Distribution. Yunnan (Longling).
Discussion. The species differs from other species of Phlugiolopsis in male cerci short, conical in lateral view, with 1 long ventral lobe in middle area ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ); female subgenital plate kidney-shaped, apical area bilobate, the lateral lobes obtuse ( Fig. 1J View FIGURE 1 ).
Etymology. The new species is named for male cerci subconical in lateral view.
