Description. Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, with a narrow longitudinal furrow, apex obtuse ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Eyes spherical, projecting outwards. Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Thorax. Anterior margin of pronotum faintly projecting, posterior margin rounded ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ); lateral lobes longer than high, narrowing to backward, humeral sinus absent ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Legs. Fore coxae with 1 small spine. All femora unarmed on ventral surfaces, apices of genicular lobes of hind femora obtusely rounded. Fore and middle tibiae ventrally with 4–5 pairs of spines and 1 pair of apical spines; tibial tympana open on both sides, ovoid. Hind tibiae with 22–26 pairs of spines on dorsal surfaces, ventral surfaces with 2 internal and 2–3 external spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs. Tegmina and wings. Tegmina short and slightly surpassing the posterior margin of pronotum, reaching the middle of second abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Abdomen. Tenth abdominal tergite faintly excavated on posterior margin ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Basal half of cercus with interno-dorsal margin narrowly expanded ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ), extending to the interno-ventral margin in middle area ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ); apical half spiniform, gradually incurved ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Subgenital plate longer than wide, lateral margins convex and then converging, posterior margin lobate projecting. Styli conical, curving forward, inserted on both sides of the posterior margin of subgenital plate ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ).

Female. Similar in appearance to male, larger. Ovipositor gradually upcurved behind middle area, apices of dorsal valvulae acute, ventral valvulae with a small apical hook ( Fig. 2I View FIGURE 2 ). Subgenital plate wider than long, ventral surface with 1 concavity on each side; lateral margins subparallel; posterior margin triangular with fainty excavated in middle ( Fig. 2J View FIGURE 2 ).

Coloration. Body brown. Eyes black. Antennal socket and internal margins of basal two segments of antennae black, flagellum with brownish ring at apical area of each segment. Dorsal surface of head with four longitudinal blackish brown stripes, the external stripes extending to the inside of antennal socket, inner longitudinal stripes wide and fused at apex of fastigium verticis. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal blackish brown stripe on both sides, which reaching the middle of metazona. Apices of femora and tarsi blackish brown. Abdominal tergites black brown on both sides, sternites brown.

Measurements (mm). BL: ♂ 7.0 – 8.6, ♀ 7.8 – 9.8; PL: ♂ 4.2 – 4.7, ♀ 4.1 – 4.5; TL: ♂ 1.1 – 1.6, ♀ 1.3 – 1.5; HFL: ♂ 7.8–8.2, ♀ 8.6 – 9.2; OvL: 4.9 – 5.6.

Distribution. Yunnan (Gongshan).

Discussion. The species resembles Phlugiolopsis brevis Xia & Liu, 1993 but differs in the following aspects: basal half of male cerci narrowly expanded, the margins thickened and straight; posterior margin of male subgenital plate almost straight, not excavated; ventral surface of female subgenital plate concave on lateral areas instead of middle area.

Etymology. Named after the type locality.
