Iconography — Swallen (1932: 441 sub Trichachne patens ; base of the plant, inflorescence, spikelet and upper floret); Henrard (1950: 527, spikelet and upper floret).
Geographical Distribution and Ecology — U. S. A. and Mexico. Inhabits rocky places and usually forms large patches along roadsides from sea level to 500 m.
