Ecology. Epilithic in mid-intertidal rock pool and in shallow sublittoral.
General remarks on the distribution of Sargassum in the Mascarene Islands
Børgesen (1941: 66–73) mentions 13 Sargassum species from Mauritius amongst which are both species identified from Rodrigues.
