Description of Metabacillus mangrovi MMS 21-DH3MA7
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and white color after 3 days on marine agar 2216 at 30℃. In API 20NE, positive for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, urease, gelatinase and β -galactosidase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production and glucose fermentation. Utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose and potassium gluconate. Does not utilize capric acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain MMS21-DH3MA7 (= NNIBR2021642BA3) has been isolated from a freshwater sample, Gongju-si, Korea.
