Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil ( São Paulo) (Melo & Campos Jr. 1994; Melo 1996).
Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo (Santos) included only the type series material collected in the stomach content of the fish Diplectrum formosum ( Holotype male MZUSP 10932 and paratype male MZUSP 11106) (Melo & Campos Jr. 1994).
