Tritomaria exsectiformis (Breidl.) Schiffn. ex Loeske subsp. arctica R.M. Schust. – Oscar II Land, Värmlandryggen View in CoL , west coast of Ymerbukta (78°14'19''N – 13°54'2''E), 37 m a.s.l., lower part of steep east facing rocky slope, Salix View in CoL polaris- moss tundra, on side of bryophyte covering hummock, 17.VII.2012 Konstantinova & Savchenko # K237-2-12, mixed with Sphenolobus minutus (Schreb. ex D. Crantz) Berggr. View in CoL , Cephaloziella varians (Gottsche) Steph. View in CoL , Lophozia silvicoloides N. Kitag. View in CoL , Cephalozia bicuspidata View in CoL (L.) Dumort. {KPABG K237-2- 12}, ibid. Konstantinova & Savchenko # K237-2-12, mixed with Scapania obcordata (Berggr.) S.W. Arnell View in CoL , Cephaloziella varians View in CoL {KPABG K237-4-12}. Tritomaria exsectiformis View in CoL was recorded in Svalbard only by Arnell & Mårtensson (1959) from “near NY-Ålesund.” A. Frisvoll ( Frisvoll & Elvebakk, 1996) suggested that this record refers to subsp. arctica R.M. Schust. However View in CoL , based on Damsholt's personal communication Süderstrüm et al. (2021) referred this record to subsp. exsectiformis . In collected by us specimens plants are very small, just 4–6 mm long and 0.5–0.7 mm wide, have concave mainly as wide as long leaves, ca. 0.6–0.75 × 0.65–0.75 mm, small midleaf cells, ca. (12)15–17(19) × 17–20(22) µm, numerous red to reddish brown angulary polygonal with admixture triangular gemmae, ca. (10)12–14 wide and 15–18(23) µm long and thus fits well subsp. arctica View in CoL .
