Ficus venosissima Lundell (1975: 159) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):— GUATEMALA. Alta Verapaz, Rio Sebol, Randal Grande , on riverbank, 9 May 1964, E. Contreras 4649 ( lectotype: LL 00370484 !; isolectotype: LL 00370483 !, S!).
Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue indicates the holotype of F. venosissima is deposited at the herbarium LL but there are two preparations from a single gathering ( E. Contreras 4649) at LL. It is unclear from the label whether these two preparations are part of the same specimen or not. Following the Art. 8.3 from the ICN ( Turland et al. 2018) we considered these to be duplicates. Therefore, we designate here the specimen E. Contreras 4649 (LL 00370484) as a lectotype because it contains taxonomically informative characters such as branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— The name is currently considered a synonym of F. crocata (e.g., Berg 2009, Ibarra-Manríquez et al. 2012).
