Holotype: OMAN ♀ 27.ii.2020 Al Suwayq , Hail al Ghafa 23.769 N, 57.342 E, leg. AJ ( ZMHU) GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 ♀ same data as holotype ( AJ) GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis: Nysson waleedi is unique among Arabian Nyssonini in having a shiny body surface in combination with a reddish colour and a sparse punctation with large interspaces on most parts of the mesosoma. The remainig species of the genus even in the Mediterreanean area are conspicuously sculptured or densely punctate, and always with parts of the body black.
Description of female holotype: Body length: 3.5 mm. Color: Orange red, face and mesoscutum somewhat darker, labrum, parts of antenna, pronotal tubercle and pronotum somewhat lighter than remaining body. Tip of mandible black. Hindtibia with yellow band on outer surface. T 1–3 with thin yellow bands, shortly interrupted medially on T3. Tergal margins of T 4–5 somewhat yellowish. Face laterally and mesopleuron below with inconspicuous, lateral part of propodeal dorsum with dense, silver pubescence. Wing venation brown, basally red. Wings transparent. Morphology: ACM straight, laterally with small rectangular corner. Clypeus, face, mesoscutum, scutellum and mesopleuron shiny and polished, with scattered punctation, punctures mostly several diameters apart. Vertex behind and gena rounded, with narrow occipital carina separating mouth parts from gena. Propodeal dorsum striate, propodeal posterior surface punctatorugose. Punctation of T 1–2 larger and denser than on mesoscutum, punctures approximately one diameter apart, punctation of remaining terga somewhat denser. T6 with confluent larger punctures, for shape see Fig. 16 View FIGURES 9–16 . Antenna claviform, AS 2–3 as long as wide, AS 3–11 shorter than wide, AS 12 as long as both previous AS combined.
Male: Unknown.
Distribution: Northern Oman ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 33–36 ).
Etymology: The species is named in honor of Waleed Mubark Al-Busaidi from Muscat, Oman, a specialist of plant science at Sultan Qaboos University.
