Strigamia tripora ( Chamberlin, 1941) *

References for morphology: Chamberlin 1941.

Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Korynia View in CoL , it was almost ignored subsequently. It is assigned here to Strigamia View in CoL for the first time ( new combination), because it shares all major diagnostic features of Strigamia View in CoL . However, it could be a junior synonym of S. kerrana View in CoL , because the original descriptions of both species are fully consistent, the difference in the number of pairs of legs ( 39 in a female S. tripora , 45 in a female S. kerrana View in CoL ) being possibly due to interindividual variation, and the difference in the number of coxal pores (3 on each side in a 15 mm long S. tripora , 4 in a 20 mm long S. kerrana View in CoL ) being possibly due to changes with growth or individual variation.

Distribution: known from a single locality in the Sierra Nevada, California.
